What We Offer
Music Theory
LGMI is planted in the islands of Cape Verde, Africa. Here the tradition and culture is one of musical arts and dance. There are a great number of local musicians, and they are very gifted. However, there is a great lack of these musicians inside of the local church. Here at our base we offer several different music programs, or ways to learn your instrument. We don’t want to just raise up the next piano player that knows a few songs, we want to train both in Theory & Practicals! This will allow the students knowledge to grow far beyond our very simple worship music chord progressions.
Instrument Practicals
During our programs for Music Training, you aren’t just going to learn theory, but you also aren’t just going to learn how to play songs. We train each student both parts of the musical dialogue, Practical & Theory.
Our desire is to be able to train people of the local church and then have them return to their churches with the ability to serve on the worship teams. Here in Cape Verde, there is a great love for music, yet such a lack in the church of musicians. We want to work in unity with the local churches that they would be better equipped every worship service!
Another aspect of our music programs is the fact that we want to train musicians and singers that they would become part of House of Prayer.
Vocal Lessons
We also offer a full vocal class. These classes will help you to gain confidence and knowledge for how to use your voice more effectively. Also, they will focus on improving your vocal range, increasing your vocal stamina and give you the know how to stay on pitch no matter the circumstance!
A Place to Grow
With our base being a place of training and a House of Prayer, we provide both a place to learn and to put into practice the lessons that each student is learning. Our Base has daily prayer meetings where there is always a need for singers and musicians.
With that being said, as a House of Prayer our goal is to have the students serve in the House of Prayer as a means of growing on their instrument or voice, as well as a way to grow in their relationship with God.
